Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra 2023/24 new season is now live

I am delighted to share with you the details of our new BSO Concert Season 2023/24!

We welcome back Kirill Karabits for what will be his last season as BSO Chief Conductor, continuing his amazing musical journey discovering long-lost and forgotten Voices from the East. In the highlight of our season, Kirill teams up with Seeta Patel Dance for an incredible special choreographed performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring.

Phenomenal pianist Alexander Malofeev becomes our new Artist-in-Residence, opening the season with Kirill in Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, as well as a fiendishly complex recital featuring music by Bach, Wagner, Scriabin and Rachmaninov.

Other season highlights include Brahms’ Double Concerto with star violinist Alina Ibragimova and BSO Principal Cello Jesper Svedberg, Mark Wigglesworth conducting Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, and a complete performance of Smetana’s Ma Vlast with Jac van Steen.

General bookings open on Wednesday 24 May.

We really hope that you will join us for as many concerts as possible. You, the audience are as much a part of the performance as the musicians on stage – we can’t do it without you. And as you know, nothing beats being there, so please tell your friends to come along and experience the full sensual glory of a live symphonic concert.
