“Summer Sunday” featuring the Nevada Street Six at the Weald and Downland Museum

The second Summer Sunday at the Weald & Downland Living Museum features The Nevada Street Six.

The Nevada Street Six is a specially expanded version of The Nevada Street Four, a quartet of musical friends whose initial public performances were in a bar in Nevada Street, Greenwich. Members of the band boast considerable and varied professional experience: Rico Tomasso (trumpet), Malcolm Earle-Smith (trombone), Richard White (reeds) and Colin Good (piano) toured and recorded extensively with Bryan Ferry’s Orchestra and can be heard on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby; Malcolm Sked (sousaphone) has for many years appeared with the legendary Bob Kerr’s Whoopee Band; Stephen Henderson (washboard) is a ‘proper’ orchestral percussionist – legit, no less!

The Nevada Street Six meets in holiday mood with a relaxed and witty presentation of vintage jazz and popular music. Audiences are entertained, cheered and (occasionally) dazzled by this very talented and endearing group of musicians.

This is an outdoor event so please bring a rug and a picnic, or there will be food and drink available to buy from the Waterside Cafe.
