The Petersfield Choir presents a varied selection of beautiful choral music based around the theme of Advent.
Free entry with a retiring collection.
The Petersfield Choir returns to its home ground in the town centre as December begins, with a scintillating selection of choral works, mixing Advent themes with a range of other favourite songs, both sacred and secular, chosen for their quality and excellence…and because the choir enjoy them so much.
Choir Director Steve Sargent said, “We’re delighted to be returning to St. Peter’s Church, renowned as a great place both to sing and to listen to the best in choral music. And it’s fair to say that we have a stunning list of the best short and varied songs which are available to choirs. In this concert, we range from Monteverdi in 1640 to Moses Hogan’s gospel arrangements of the 21st century, and a bit of everything in between.
“The choir revel in mastering new songs and new styles all the time and, in this concert, we really do have something for everyone. As a choir, all our concerts are free and, if people like our music, we hope they will contribute to our chosen charity at the end. This year, we are supporting BLISS, which works hard for families with very premature babies.”
