A lecture recital at the Chapel of the Ascension, University of Chichester to be live streamed. Online only.
As part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, Angela will discuss the life and significance of this great composer with the help of PowerPoint slides and demonstrations of some of his finest works for the piano. Beethoven has been Angela’s favourite composer since childhood, and she was fortunate to have the opportunity to absorb the spirit of the composer while she was a student in Vienna, the city where Beethoven spent the final 27 years of his life and composed most of his well-known works. Over the years, Angela has performed many of Beethoven’s major piano works and has lectured extensively on his life and music to students of all ages.
Included in the programme:
Beethoven Sonata in F Minor Op. 57 “Appassionata” (first movement) & Sonata in A Flat Major Op. 110
