Ariel Lanyi began piano lessons with Lea Agmon before his fifth birthday and made his orchestral debut shortly thereafter. He has since given numerous recitals in London, Paris, Rome, Brussels, and Prague, among many other places. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Israel Symphony Orchestra and the CBSO, and has performed with leading members of the Berlin Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Israel Philharmonic.
In 2017, Ariel was awarded first prize at the Dudley International Piano Competition, and in 2018 the first prize at the Grand Prix Aminato in Paris. Ariel studied at the Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of Music with Yuval Cohen. Currently, he studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Hamish Milne and Ian Fountain. He has also received tuition from artists such as Leon Fleisher, Robert Levin, Richard Goode, Murray Persia, Imogen Cooper, Leif Ove Andsnes, Steven Osborne, and Ivan Moravec.
