We regret to announce that, because of pressing family issues, the Royal Academy of Music pianist Bocheng Wang has been forced to withdraw from his advertised recital at midday on Friday 19 July. All ticket holders are being contacted by the Box Office.
Happily, because of the depth of talent available to us through the Royal Academy, and thanks to intervention of both the Academy’s Professor of Piano, Joanna MacGregor and Emeritus Professor Christopher Elton, a very exciting replacement has been lined up in Ke Ma.
Born in 1994, Ke is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor Christopher Elton for a Master degree. Most recently, she won the first prize in the 18th Concours International de Piano de la ville de Maisons-Laffitte, in France.
Full biographical details can be found on her website.
Ke’s repertoire will vary slightly from the advertised programme but will still include the winning combination of Clara Schumann and Frederick Chopin plus the sublime Gaspard de la Nuit by Maurice Ravel.
Clara Schumann – Three Preludes and fugues, op.16
Chopin – Selection of Preludes (tbc)
Ravel – Gaspard de la Nuit
