Southern Pro Musica returns to St. Peter’s for another of its very popular candle-lit concerts with a delightful programme of 18th-century music, directed by Jonathan Willcocks. At the heart of the programme will be the brilliant young flautist Charlotte Ashton (principal flute of the BBC Scottish Symphony orchestra) playing Mozart – Flute concerto no. 1 in G major and the beautiful Dance of the Blessed Spirits by Gluck. Also to savour will be symphonies by Haydn and Mozart – a feast of the finest classical music amidst the beauty of the church lit by hundreds of candles.
