Portsmouth Choral Union

Chilcott ‘The Angry Planet’.

The Portsmouth Choral Union with the Portsmouth Baroque Choir and Castle Primary School.
Accompanist: Ian Richardson

A piece for adult and children’s choir with an environmental theme especially commissioned for the Proms in 2012. It is a combination of Chilcott’s inventive and emotionally vital choral writing with text by Charles Bennett. This monumental cantata for massed forces sings of humanity’s negligence towards nature. The innocent tunes of the children’s choir evoke a sense of hope for the future.

Details of the workshop with Bob Chilcott on 13 June.
