Chichester Cathedral – “Messiah” by Wild Arts

Wild Arts bring their trademark fresh and innovative approach to Handel’s legendary telling of the Christmas story, in collaboration with Tom Morris (National Theatre, Warhorse).

The Wild Arts Ensemble, among the leading period instrument specialists in the UK, join the star singers of the summer opera tour for a collaborative version which will bring the music and story to life, where the musicianship and skill of each performer is spotlit as each takes their moment in the limelight.

The performers have been working with Tom Morris to realise the dramatic underpinnings of Handel’s iconic score. Tom is a leading director of opera and theatre, having been Artistic Director of Bristol Old Vic, and directed shows at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, English National Opera, the Vienna Staatsoper, The National Theatre among others, as well as the world wide musical phenomenon War Horse. His most recent collaboration was with Mark Rylance on the West End show Dr Semmelweiss.
