Chichester Cello Day

University of Chichester Conservatoire

Join in a joyful day of music making as you take your place in the cello orchestra led by Professor Laura Ritchie from the University of Chichester Conservatoire. Music from classical to pop is tailored for individual levels (from Grade 3 – Conservatoire+).

For over 20 years Professor Laura Ritchie has gathered cellists across ages and abilities to form cello orchestras.

This day of music making promises fun and challenge with a range of music from Bach to the pops. Ritchie ensures individual parts are at the appropriate level and music is provided in advance of the event.

The schedule for the day is varied, interleaving rehearsals with short talks and demonstrations. A toolkit for reflection on technique and practicing skills, based on Ritchie’s research will be presented and there are opportunities for reflection and questions throughout the day. Friends and family are invited to hear the end of day performance free of charge.

Tickets £35 (students free).

At The Cloisters Chamber.
