Portsmouth Baroque Choir joins the Consort of Twelve to perform Handel’s oratorio Israel in Egypt.

Stirring choruses with graphic musical imitations of hailstones, fire, plagues of frogs and flies, galloping horses and the waters of the Red Sea will feature. Local tenor Tom Robson will be among the soloists.

The Consort of Twelve is an ensemble of musicians which specialises in the performance of Baroque music using the styles, techniques and instruments of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Portsmouth Baroque Choir comprises around 35 singers specialising in Baroque music, but also performing a range of music from the late Renaissance to the present day.
