Portsmouth Baroque Choir: Jongen Mass Op. 130 and Duruflé Requiem

Read a review.

As part of our 40th anniversary season, we’ll be performing Duruflé’s well known Requiem along with a much less familiar piece, the Mass by the Belgian composer Joseph Jongen.

Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem is his largest-scale and most performed work. Though less well known than the Requiem by Fauré, it has its own distinctive style, based on traditional Gregorian chants.

Tickets £12 online or at the door.

Portsmouth Baroque Choir comprises around 35 singers specialising in Baroque music, but also performing a range of music from the late Renaissance to the present day.
