Portsmouth Menuhin Room concert series: Alastair Penman (Saxophone) and Jonathan Pease (Piano)

Part of a new music series.

Alastair Penman (Saxophone) and Jonathan Pease (Piano) will perform an eclectic mix of repertoire for sax and piano.

Tickets are £15. They may also be paid for on the door (cash/card) by reservation – if you are not pre-booking online, please contact Andrew McVittie saying how many seats you would like to reserve so that he can plan seating, etc.

This is a one-hour performance (no interval).

The Lily & Lime Cafe will be open throughout for light refreshments.

Hailed as a “pioneering instrumentalist and writer” and praised for his “surpassingly beautiful music” and “undoubtedly brilliant mind”, saxophonist Alastair Penman is a dynamic and versatile performer and composer. Alastair is a City Music Foundation Artist, Park Lane Group Artist, BBC Introducing Artist, Live Music Now Artist, a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, and has won awards from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, RNCM and St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge. Jonathan Pease is an accomplished, versatile pianist. After reading music at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge, he studied the piano with Graham Fitch, and is in high demand as an accompanist and répétiteur, thanks to his exceptional sight-reading skills and sensitive ensemble playing. Jonathan is also a creative and visionary musical director, with a reputation for innovative programming and a friendly but super-efficient rehearsal style. In the world of entertainment, Jonathan is resident MD at the Ivory Vaults at Tower Bridge, overseeing cabaret for corporate nights and themed events.
