The Organ Project: Organ Recital Series – Harvey James Stansfield

Organ recital by Harvey James Stansfield from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Harvey James Stansfield’s passion for organ music has driven his studies under renowned names such as Daniel Moult and Nicholas Wearne, and his diverse talent has seen him flourish as an accompanist, liturgical organist, and recitalist. Known for his awe-inspiring performances, he has held Organ Scholarships at both Blackburn and Coventry Cathedrals, and played at significant venues across the UK. Most recently, Harvey has released his debut CD ‘FANFARE’, which celebrates the organ music of Percy Whitlock.

The night promises a rich programme of exciting organ music, including works from Edward Elgar, Dietrich Buxtehude, Robert Schumann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn and Joseph Bonnet. The depth and complexity of these compositions will no doubt provide a captivating showcase of Harvey’s skill and the beauty of our newly-restored organ. We warmly invite you to join us for an evening of splendid music that celebrates our shared cultural heritage. Immerse yourself in the atmospheric surroundings of St Mary’s Church and experience the grandeur of organ music under the hands of Harvey James Stansfield.

This is your chance to experience our newly-restored 1889 J.W. Walker & Sons Ltd. pipe organ at St Mary’s Church, Fratton, Portsmouth.
