Waterlooville Music Festival 2024 runs from Sunday 9th to Saturday 15th June. All at St George’s Church Waterlooville, 7.30pm, licensed bar opens 7pm.

Conductor: Ben Qureshi

Ben Qureshi is a vibrant and inspiring conductor, based in the South of England. Originally a trombonist, he first took up the baton at university, becoming Assistant Conductor and later Interim Conductor at Southampton University Symphony Orchestra. Ben has worked with many orchestras in the South of England, including Southampton Concert Orchestra, Petersfield Orchestra, Havant Chamber Orchestra, Winchester Chamber Orchestra and Per Piacere Chamber Orchestra, with a repertoire ranging from Mozart to Mahler. Ben has also worked with two orchestras in Paris, namely l’Orchestre de Sorbonne Université and l’Orchestre des Grandes Écoles, with whom he led several rehearsals. Fluent in English and French, he is comfortable conducting in both languages. Ben has studied primarily with Robin Browning, but has also taken lessons from Peter Stark, Matthew Hardy and Paul Ingram.
