Petworth Festival launches on Wednesday 10 July

The curtain rises on this year’s Petworth Festival on Wednesday 10 July, heralding a hugely diverse fortnight of events in and around Petworth. The piano is very much centre stage in what is the Festival’s 45th edition, with stellar performances anticipated from Boris Giltburg, Joanna MacGregor (who appears with members of the Brighton Philharmoinic) and Leeds International Piano Competition winners Alim Besimbayev and Ariel Lanyi. Other events scheduled for Petworth’s beautiful St Mary’s Church include Simon Keenleyside in concert with Roger Vignoles and French Horn player Ben Goldscheider with the Sacconi Quartet in a concert featuring Mozart’s Horn Quintet in E-Minor.

The wide ranging festival spreads itself geographically across eleven venues and includes jazz maestros Joe Stilgoe, Ronnie Scott’s James Pearson and Jay Rayner with headline events in larger venues taking place in Petworth House’s atmospheric Stableyard and The Rother College Theatre in Midhurst.
