The Meon Valley Orchestra

A few years ago a handful of musicians got together in the village of Meonstoke to play folk music. The group got bigger, more experienced and morphed into the Meonstoke Village Band. Soon, musicians joined from further afield. Six brass players and a percussionist joined. The woodwind section also grew and the whole ensemble of forty people re-badged itself as the Meon Valley Orchestra.

Today the MVO plays a wide selection of popular classical music under the direction of Lorraine Masson, a professional violin, viola and flute player.

The MVO has raised thousands of pounds through its annual charity concert in the United Reformed Church, Fareham.
